ABOUT THE SUMMIT

the largest annual retirement living event

Backed by national and international experience, the Summit positions the retirement living sector as Australia’s best response to our greatest demographic challenge, an ageing population. Age-friendly communities and people-centered services enable independence and social participation, while optimising happiness, health and wellbeing. Adequacy, availability and affordability of housing that meets the needs of older Australians are key ingredients for healthy ageing.

While recognising age-friendly housing design, structure and form are critical enablers for ageing-in-place, the integration of best practice person-centered services – from the salesperson to the village manager and from cleaners to community and health carers – are all part of part of our residents’ retirement living experience.

Forty years after the first intergenerational report identified our ageing population was Australia’s greatest demographic challenge, the future is now. To get a better understanding of where we are today, the Retirement Living Council has sought and curated some of the most relevant, thoughtful and inspiring speakers to identify the value chain the retirement living industry offers Australia, as well as the value proposition age-friendly communities will offer older Australians today and tomorrow.

"The best way to predict the future is to create it."
