Daniel Gannon is a seasoned property industry leader with 18 years’ experience in advocacy, public policy, stakeholder management, media and government relations.
Most recently, he has driven significant change in South Australia’s property and investment industry as Executive Director of the Property Council of Australia from 2014 to 2022.
Over his eight-year leadership in this role, he spearheaded successful campaigns to abolish commercial stamp duty and reform land tax, increasing South Australia’s investment attractiveness as a result.
In 2022, Daniel commenced as the Executive Director of the Retirement Living Council of Australia – the national leadership group representing the retirement living sector, championing policies that support greater investment in age-friendly communities across the country.
Prior to his time in property leadership roles, Daniel was Director of Media and Communications to Steven Marshall – former Premier of South Australia – and held other roles in state politics over almost 10 years.
When combined with his industry experience and connectivity, Daniel has the ability to talk directly with private and public sector leaders to deliver positive outcomes for the investment industry.
In 2020 and 2021, Daniel was named one of South Australia’s 50 Most Influential People, he was ranked in the Top 10 Real Estate Heavyweights of 2020, while in 2018 he was named one of South Australia’s Top 40 Leaders Under 40 and one of the state’s Top 50 Powerbrokers.
